Rally Detail

The 2012 Utah State H.O.G. ® Rally, is a four day touring Rally through scenic Northern Utah.

The theme for this year’s rally is “Where the Dust Meets the Asphalt!” Join the modern day cowboy for a journey through Northern Utah’s “Old West” over more than 700 miles of the scenic highways and byways only found in Northern Utah.

Your 2012 Utah State H.O.G.® Rally will begin when you put your kick stand up and head to Northern Utah. You may be traveling a great distance or taking a short day ride to get to the start of this Utah adventure, but whatever the case we hope the information you find here will provide you with insight and useful information during the planning phases of your rally experience.

Day 1—July 11, 2012—We will begin at the South Valley Harley-Davidson Shop in Sandy, Utah. This is where you will pick-up your Rally Registration packet (if you pre-registered, which I know you will be!) and the adventure of the summer begins! We will have a bike wash available so you can get your ride nice and clean and shiny for the bike show. The winners will be announced at the closing ceremonies on Saturday, July 14 at Harley-Davidson of Salt Lake City and will receive a custom “one of a kind” trophy made by Timpanogos Harley-Davidson. We will have opening ceremonies, a dealer sponsored dinner and much more that will have to be a surprise!

Day 2—July 12, 2012—Breakfast and Bike games at Timpanogas Harley-Davidson in Lindon, Utah, then up Provo Canyon, over to Heber City, on up to Daniels summit and finally landing in Vernal. Don’t worry we will get you a map and provide you with some interesting sights to see. It will be an awesome day of rides, games and of course fun with your H.O.G.® friends. Beers Harley-Davidson in Vernal, Utah will be sponsoring our evening meal and there will be plenty to do in town and at the dealership!

Day 3—July 13, 2012—The big day! Get plenty of sleep and an early start, because we will ride over 300 miles of Utah’s Scenic Byways that Northern Utahns describe as the “top must ride” roads in the area! From Vernal to Logan we’ll ride Wolf Creek Pass, Mirror Lake Highway, and Logan Canyon, stopping in Evanston for lunch (on your own) Garden City for Raspberry Shakes and through all the little towns in between. It will be a day of riding the twisties and canyons that is a 'must ride' for any motorcycle enthusiast visiting Utah. Join us this evening for a hosted dinner and entertainment at Saddleback Harley-Davidson in Logan, Utah.

Day 4—July 14, 2012—There will be no rest for the weary today! We visit the Golden Spike Monument at Promontory, ride Ogden Canyon, East Canyon, and visit historic Park City and finally make our way to Salt Lake City. Be sure to stop at Golden Spike Harley-Davidson in Ogden, Utah for a dealer hosted BBQ lunch.

Did I mention the Northern Utah Dealer Poker ride! Get your poker punches by visiting the Northern Utah Harley-Davidson dealerships and shops during the four days of the rally! Details will be in the Rally Rider Guide found in your registration packet! The winners will be announced at closing ceremonies at Harley-Davidson of Salt Lake City where we will have a dealer sponsored dinner, prizes, music and more!
